Job Description

Our client is a nationally respected provider of health, science, and technology solutions supporting clients in the government and commercial sectors. They provide comprehensive enterprise information technology, strategic sourcing, and management solutions to DoD and federal civilian agencies in 40 states.

This role focuses on applying advanced data science, machine learning, and autonomous/agent-based reasoning techniques to solve complex, mission‑critical problems. The Data Scientist will work closely with stakeholders, engineers, and product teams to translate operational needs into scalable, production‑ready AI capabilities within an ontology‑driven ecosystem.

Requirements

Education, Certifications, and Years of Experience

  • Master’s degree in a STEM field (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Life Sciences, Engineering) and a minimum of two (2) years of experience related to Data Science.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field can be substituted for a Master’s degree with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in data science or a related role.
  • Palantir Foundry Bootcamp or similar certifications.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficient utilizing tools, techniques, and scientific computing libraries (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Python) to build predictive models and perform statistical analysis.
  • Experience working with data integration technologies leveraging Application Program Interfaces (APIs) (e.g., RESTful, etc.) to access external data sources.
  • Preferred: Experience working with Palantir Foundry, including pipelines, transformations, ontology‑based applications, or Workshop‑style operational solutions.
  • Preferred: Experience with LLM evaluation methods (automated scoring, human review pipelines, hallucination mitigation, safety testing).
  • Preferred: Experience with MLOps tooling and patterns (model registries, feature stores, drift detection, experiment tracking).

Work Authorization Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in the US and be able to obtain a Confidential (tier 1) clearance.

Compensation

Salary Range: $120K - $140K

The salary range for this position is determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications, skill level, and location. The final salary offer will fall within this range and will be commensurate with the candidate’s background and the specific demands of the role.

Physical Demands

This position primarily involves sedentary work in an office or remote setting. The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers to operate computers and related equipment, and communicate verbally and in writing. Occasional lifting and carrying of equipment up to 25 pounds may be required. The role may also involve bending, reaching, or kneeling when setting up or troubleshooting hardware. Visual acuity is necessary for prolonged use of computer monitors and diagnosing technical issues.
