Job Description

Our client is a nationally respected provider of health, science, and technology solutions supporting clients in the government and commercial sectors. They provide comprehensive enterprise information technology, strategic sourcing, and management solutions to DoD and federal civilian agencies in 40 states.

The role requires expertise in coding interfaces and workflows on platforms such as Palantir Foundry, ensuring seamless data integration and operational efficiency. Developers will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create scalable, secure, and efficient software solutions that align with AFMS mission objectives, as well as support Clinical Information Systems.

Requirements

Education, Certifications and Years of Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in Python based software development.
  • Associate’s degree may be substituted for Bachelor’s degree with additional three (3) years of experience in a software development related role.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience working in MS Azure Cloud environments with Azure data, infrastructure and DevSecOps services.
  • Experience working with data integration technologies leveraging Application Program Interfaces (APIs) (e.g., RESTful, etc.) to access external data sources.
  • Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment with ability to support onsite work (up to 35%) and travel out of state as needed.
  • Professional experience developing backend applications in Python.
  • Strong experience with at least one Python web framework: FastAPI (preferred), Flask, or Django (API modules).
  • Experience building production-grade REST APIs, including: OpenAPI/Swagger documentation; AuthN/AuthZ patterns (OAuth2/OIDC/JWT); Versioning, pagination, and rate-limiting; Robust error handling and structured logging.
  • Hands-on experience developing applications integrated with Palantir Foundry, such as: Consuming Foundry data products or operational objects from a service/application layer; Building workflows that use Foundry outputs in downstream applications; Working within Foundry governance constraints (access controls, lineage, auditability).
  • Experience with Foundry concepts such as Ontology, operational workflows, and building reusable components for multiple teams.
  • Experience with async and performance patterns: asyncio, background workers (Celery/RQ), caching (Redis), and message queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ).
  • Familiarity with MLOps/LLMOps: model/version tracking, offline/online evaluation, prompt versioning, drift monitoring.
  • Experience building internal developer platforms or API gateways (rate limiting, auth, routing, policy enforcement).

Work Authorization Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in the US and be able to obtain a Confidential (tier 1) clearance.

Benefits

Salary Range: $110K - $130K

The salary range for this position is determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, qualifications, skill level, and location. The final salary offer will fall within this range and will be commensurate with the candidate’s background and the specific demands of the role.

Physical Demands

This position primarily involves sedentary work in an office or remote setting. The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers to operate computers and related equipment, and communicate verbally and in writing. Occasional lifting and carrying of equipment up to 25 pounds may be required. The role may also involve bending, reaching, or kneeling when setting up or troubleshooting hardware. Visual acuity is necessary for prolonged use of computer monitors and diagnosing technical issues.
