Job Description

Shift Collab is one of Canada’s largest therapy practices, operating virtually to support Canadians nationwide. We aim to make therapy human and empowering, providing mental health care that is approachable and impactful. We are currently hiring a Videographer and Editor, where video plays a crucial role in building trust and telling authentic stories across our brand. We seek a long-term creative collaborator rather than hiring individually for each project. The ideal candidate should be passionate about video quality and execution while working closely with our marketing team and co-founders to enhance our video content.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Collaborating with the marketing team to align video content with brand and campaign goals.
• Contributing to creative ideation, shot lists, and storyboards for various content formats.
• Filming high-quality video and making creative decisions regarding framing, lighting, and audio.
• Directing on-camera talent confidently.
• Executing full post-production workflows, including editing, audio mixing, and colour correction.
• Editing content for social media platforms and producing multiple versions for testing.
• Managing digital assets effectively.
• Maintaining high creative and technical standards across all video content.
• Advising on equipment needs and production improvements.

What You’ll Bring to the Table:

• 5+ years of experience in video creation for social media, podcasts, and brand storytelling.
• A strong portfolio showcasing relevant, high-quality work.
• Advanced shooting experience in various environments.
• Strong knowledge of camera systems, lighting, and audio recording.
• Understanding of platform best practices for various social media channels.
• Ability to balance storytelling with performance-focused creative content.
• Attention to detail and clear storytelling instincts.

Technical Requirements

• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, CapCut, or similar tools.
• Experience with platform-native pacing and storytelling techniques.
• Ability to capture high-quality audio and create engaging UGC-style content.

Tools and Setup

• Contractors must have their own camera, audio, lighting, and editing equipment/software.
• Comfort in using Slack and project management tools such as Motion.
• Ability to travel within the West GTA area, including Hamilton and Toronto.
• Willingness to work primarily during business hours with some flexibility required.
• This is an independent contractor role with no employee benefits.

Compensation and Contract Details

• Compensation up to $50 per hour, based on experience.
• Average monthly hours of approximately 20, around 5 hours per week with potential for increased hours.
• Ongoing independent contractor agreement with an initial three-month trial period.
• This role is only open to individuals, not agencies or production companies.
