Job Description

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic guitar player to join our team for the upcoming High School Spring Musical “Big Fish: School Edition”. This temporary position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with students and staff in a vibrant and creative environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for music, experience in live performance, and the ability to work well with young musicians.

Responsibilities

• Perform guitar music as part of the musical ensemble during rehearsals and performances.
• Collaborate with the musical director and other musicians to ensure a cohesive sound and performance.
• Attend all scheduled rehearsals and performances, contributing to a positive and encouraging atmosphere.
• Assist in the arrangement and adaptation of music as needed to fit the ensemble’s needs.
• Provide guidance and support to student musicians, fostering their development and confidence.
• Participate in pre-show preparations, including sound checks and equipment setup.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude throughout the production process.

Requirements

• Proficiency in playing the guitar, with a strong understanding of various musical styles.
• Previous experience in live performance, preferably in a musical theater setting.
• Ability to read sheet music and follow musical arrangements.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a knack for working with high school students.
• Availability for all rehearsals and performances, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• A passion for music education and a desire to inspire young musicians.
• Background check clearance as required by school district policies.
