Job Description

Audio Visual Technician – Podcast Studio

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Audio Visual Technician to operate a professional podcast studio. In this role, you will be the backbone of every recording session — managing cameras, lighting, and audio equipment to ensure every episode is captured with broadcast-quality results. This is a hands-on, production-focused position ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced creative environment and takes pride in delivering a polished final product.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor multiple cameras during live podcast recordings, ensuring proper framing, focus, and shot composition.
  • Manage pre-installed studio lighting setups, adjusting as needed for each session.
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot podcast microphones and audio equipment to capture clean, professional sound.
  • Use the ATEM video switcher to manage live camera switching and video routing during recordings.
  • Record and mix audio using Adobe Audition, including basic post-production cleanup and noise reduction.
  • Operate the RØDECaster for streamlined audio mixing and guest management during sessions.
  • Perform routine checks on all equipment before and after sessions to ensure everything is functioning properly.
  • Quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues to minimize disruption to recording schedules.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with ATEM switcher hardware and software (Blackmagic Design).
  • Proficiency in Adobe Audition for audio recording, editing, and mixing.
  • Experience operating the RØDECaster Pro or similar podcast mixing hardware.
  • Comfortable working with multi-camera setups and professional studio lighting.
  • Strong troubleshooting instincts — able to identify and resolve issues quickly under pressure.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to consistent, high-quality output.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work professionally with on-screen talent and production staff.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a podcast, broadcast, or live production environment.
  • Familiarity with basic video editing workflows.
  • Knowledge of acoustic principles and studio sound management.
