Job Description

We are looking for a camera operator for a dance competition. Cameras and gears are not required as all the gear will be provided. Ideally, we seek a camera operator who appreciates the art of dance, especially ballet or contemporary dance. The filming will take place inside a theater, and some performances will be live-streamed on YouTube, although streaming experience is not mandatory.

Schedule:

Tue, March 17, 4:40pm to 9:45pm

Wed, March 18, 3:30pm to 10:15pm

Thur, March 19, 3:30pm to 9:15pm

Fri, March 20, 3:30pm to 9:45pm

Sat, March 21, 8:30am to 6:40pm

Compensation: $1400 for the full schedule. Partial schedule compensation: $200/day (T-F, short days), $350 for a full day on Sat. We are looking for 1-2 people to fill the schedule, providing some flexibility.

Payment will be made via Zelle or Venmo on the last day prior to leaving the venue. Completion of a W9 form is required.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a video camera
• Knowledge of Canon line cameras preferred
• Experience shooting live performances; experience or interest in dance is a plus
• Degree in film production, videography, video production, or similar preferred

Responsibilities

• Capturing dance performances at the ballet competition
• Maintaining a professional demeanor in front of clients and the audience while on the shoot

Other Requirements

• Communications: Candidates must have WhatsApp installed (at least during the gig) as the team will communicate via WhatsApp during the event.
• Must be physically able to handle the hours; there will be intermissions and breaks.
