3D Designer is needed in Gibsonton, United States.

Location: Gibsonton, FL

Contract: Temporary, Temp-to-hire

Job Description

The primary role of the CAD Designer is to generate comprehensive erection and shop drawings for all fabricated members. This includes a detailed bill of materials, encompassing field fastens and miscellaneous items, utilizing relevant detailing standards and software.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CAD design.
  • Knowledge of structural steel and construction practices.
  • Familiarity with AISC requirements.
  • 5+ years of experience in Autodesk AutoCAD.
  • 5+ years of experience with SolidWorks or similar software.
  • 5+ years of experience with structural steel detailing or storage tanks.
  • College education or detailing certification and five years of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Create erection and fabrication drawings with a Bill of Materials using both 3D and 2D software.
  • Review drawings and specifications for conflicts and errors.
  • Revise drawings as directed after internal review, approval, and contract changes.
  • Assist fabricators with questions when necessary.
  • Update drawings per As-built markups.
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously in a very fast-paced, production-driven environment.
  • Create PDFs of completed drawings.
  • Meet deadlines for assigned projects.
  • Conduct shop visits as needed.
  • Respond to production issues with a sense of urgency.
  • Follow and support all company safety policies.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gibsonton, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
