Job Description

The Senior SQL Developer (SQL Server + PostgreSQL) will take full ownership of SQL development, performance tuning, execution plan analysis, and database structure improvements across both SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments.

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree
• 7+ years of SQL development experience
• Strong, senior-level expertise in SQL Server (T-SQL)
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL (PL/pgSQL)
• Deep knowledge of indexing, execution plans, statistics, and concurrency
• Proven experience tuning large tables (millions to billions of rows)
• Ability to independently gather requirements and deliver complete SQL solutions
• Strong communication skills to work directly with product and engineering teams

Additional Skills

• Experience with AWS RDS / Aurora
• Experience with high-availability, replication, or partitioning
• Exposure to .NET or backend development patterns (bonus)

Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex stored procedures, functions, and SQL scripts
• Lead performance tuning across both SQL Server and PostgreSQL
• Analyze and optimize execution plans, indexes, and schema design
• Work independently with product team to translate requirements into efficient SQL solutions
• Troubleshoot and resolve production performance issues
• Support ETL processes, data pipelines, and staging systems
• Maintain data quality, integrity, and consistent performance across environments
• Recommend improvements to table structures, indexing strategies, and partitioning

Compensation and Benefits

Position Salary: $120K-$160K depending on experience
