Job Description
The Society of Adventurers is hiring performers for a scout fairy role in a live, story-driven fantasy experience set within Golden Gate Park. This interactive program is designed for children ages 7–10 and combines elements of immersive theatre, game facilitation, and guided adventure. Actors will lead small groups of children through a structured, high-energy quest that includes facilitated spellcasting, roleplay, treasure hunting, and themed potion-making activities. Performers serve as in-character guides while ensuring safety, engagement, and clear instruction throughout the experience, blending performance, facilitation, and youth engagement.

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage small groups of children in an immersive outdoor setting
- Clearly explain game rules and activities
- Maintain high energy and engagement throughout sessions
- Ensure participant safety during light physical activity
- Interact professionally with parents and guardians
- Collaborate with the cast and production team
Qualifications
We are seeking candidates who are:
- Strong in improvisation
- Comfortable working with children (ages 7–10)
- Confident explaining structured activities and rules
- Energetic, reliable, and punctual
- Comfortable with light physical movement
- Must be 18+
Previous experience is helpful but not required. Ideal backgrounds may include:
- Summer camp counseling
- Teaching artists or classroom support
- Improv or theatre performance
- Escape room facilitation
- Live-action roleplay (LARP)
- Children’s theatre

Additional Information
Time Commitment
Selected performers must be available for:
- 1 virtual information session (1 hour)
- 1 in-person walkthrough (1 hour)
- 1 virtual reading/rehearsal (2 hours)
- 2 dress rehearsals: April 18 and May 2, 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Each event day is from 9:00am-5:00pm and includes two 2–3 hour sessions with a 1-hour paid lunch break between sessions.
