Freelance 3D Character artist Expression of interest (MUST BE NZ BASED)

Character Designer is needed in New Zealand.

We are seeking a New Zealand-based character designer and 3D artist to support the development of a stylized co-op puzzle-platformer.

This role is part of a funding application, and engagement will be subject to funding approval. At this stage, we are looking to connect with artists who may be interested in collaborating on the project in the future.

Scope of Work (Proposed):

Refine and finalise the main player character design
Create a high-quality 3D model based on the approved design
Unwrap and texture the character in a stylised, game-ready format

Project Style:
The game features a vibrant, stylised sci-fi world with expressive, character-driven design. The player characters are small, personality-filled robots with a playful, readable aesthetic. They will be relatively low poly, and have a charming stylized look

Ideal Candidate:
Based in New Zealand
Experience in stylised character design and 3D modelling for games
Strong portfolio demonstrating appealing, readable characters
Ability to collaborate and iterate on design

We are currently gathering expressions of interest and would welcome the opportunity to discuss the project further. This is not a confirmed contract at this stage, but an early engagement ahead of funding confirmation.
