Job Description

We are seeking a talented and dedicated Bass Player to join our team for the upcoming High School Spring Musical. This is a temporary position that offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a vibrant musical production. The ideal candidate will possess strong musical skills, a passion for performance, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Play bass guitar and stand up bass during rehearsals and performances for the High School Spring Musical.
• Collaborate with the music director and other musicians to ensure a cohesive sound.
• Attend all scheduled rehearsals, performances, and necessary meetings leading up to the musical.
• Maintain a positive attitude and support fellow musicians and cast members.
• Assist with set-up and breakdown of musical equipment as needed.
• Adapt to changes in the musical score or arrangements as directed by the music director.
• Provide feedback and suggestions during rehearsals to enhance the overall performance quality.

Requirements

• Proficiency in playing the bass guitar and stand up bass, with a strong understanding of music theory and sight-reading.
• Previous experience in musical productions, school bands, or similar ensembles is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Availability for all rehearsals and performances, including evenings and weekends.
• Must be a current student or recent graduate of the high school or have relevant experience in youth music programs.
• A passion for music and the performing arts, with a willingness to learn and grow as a musician.
