Job Description

Rocket Launch Studio is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Photo Editor to join our post-production crew. The role involves culling and editing images from portrait, headshot, and event sessions to deliver polished and consistent results to clients efficiently and on time. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build steady freelance or part-time work within a structured creative team, with accommodating schedules and the potential for expanded responsibilities.

Core Responsibilities

As a key part of our delivery pipeline, the photo editor’s responsibilities include:

Primary Editing Work:

  • Culling raw image selects from session shoots, including sorting out test shots and duplicates.
  • Performing base edits in Lightroom Classic, focusing on exposure, white balance, contrast, color correction, and skin tone management.
  • Applying consistent corrections across image sets using batch editing, presets, and sync tools.
  • Exporting final files according to delivery specifications and file naming conventions.

Advanced Retouching (Experience Dependent):

  • Performing skin retouching and cleanup work in Photoshop as needed.
  • Assisting with more complex compositing or finishing work when required.

Qualifications & Core Skills / Experience

  • Software: Proficiency in Adobe Lightroom Classic, Camera Raw, and/or Photoshop is strongly preferred.
  • Eye for Detail: Understanding exposure, color accuracy, and skin tones with the ability to make adjustments.
  • Consistency: Ability to maintain a cohesive look across a full session efficiently.
  • Communication: Dependable and clear communication to flag questions and report progress.
  • Turnaround: Valuing deadlines with a realistic sense of personal pace.
  • Organization: Comfort in working within a defined folder structure and delivery workflow.

Work Location

Remote / Hybrid (Asset delivery handled digitally; occasional in-studio coordination in the Atlanta metro area)

Compensation
