Contract: Temporary, Part-time

Job Description

The Artist Development Assistant will have a supportive role in IFAM related activities pre, during, and post the 2026 IFAM event from approximately May 20 through July 31, 2026. The Assistant will help to accomplish market-related preparations and activities assigned to the Artist Development team.

Requirements

Essential Duties:

  • Work with the general Artist Development team to ensure planned activities are successfully accomplished. Lend a helping hand when and where needed.
  • In some cases, work in collaboration with other staff members, volunteers, and contractors as related to activities conducted.
  • Work under the instruction of the Director of Artist Development.

Additional Duties:

  • Additional duties as assigned.

  • Ability to perform assigned responsibilities with minimal to moderate supervision.
  • Proactive and good communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Professional and friendly demeanor; foster teamwork; graceful under pressure.

Physical and Other Requirements:

  • Ability to work long hours before and during Folk Art Market Week, specifically July 3-12.
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for sustained periods of time.
  • Repetitive motion โ€“ substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Close visual acuity to perform activities on a computer.
  • Ability to convey and receive detailed or important spoken information to and from others accurately.
  • Walking โ€“ moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly moving from one work site to another during markets.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Exposure to both indoor and outdoor environments and large crowds.

Work Environment / Dynamics

This position takes place in a fast-paced environment, especially during the production of the annual Santa Fe market. The incumbent should be prepared to work extended hours during this period and immediately following. Work assignments may change depending upon unforeseen and unpredictable developments including changes in market structure and systems, new technologies, and world events. A high degree of personal flexibility is required and expected, as is a high degree of maintaining confidentiality, personal integrity, and trustworthiness.

Additional Information

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 โ€“ 40 per week
