Job Description
Halogen Engineering Group is seeking a Software Engineer with over 7 years of experience. The role involves developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems such as processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems based on documented requirements. The engineer will work independently or as part of a team, reviewing and testing software components for adherence to design requirements and documenting test results. The engineer will also resolve software problem reports and provide input to the software components of system design, including hardware/software trade-offs and requirements analysis.

Requirements
- Front-end UI testing/developing background.
- Experience writing test scripts to verify the functionality of the UIs using Robot Framework (Python), REACT, and Java and/or C++.
- Experience with other front-end automation tools is a plus; the team currently uses Robot Framework.
- A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited institution plus seven (7) years of experience as a Software Engineer (SWE) in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Or, eleven (11) years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
Capabilities
- Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
- Debug existing software and correct defects.
- Provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.
- Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features.
- Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.
- Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories.
- Write or review software and system documentation.
- Serve as team lead at the appropriate level for the software development process on projects.
- Design or implement complex database or data repository interfaces/queries.
- Develop or implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards.
- Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components.
- Modify existing software to correct errors or improve performance.
- Design, develop and modify software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models.
- Implement recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.
- Oversee software development teams to ensure compliance with the software development process.
- Confer with engineers to derive software requirements and obtain project information.
- Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to meet operational specifications.
Salary Range
The projected compensation range for this position is $186K to $192K (annualized USD). The salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.
