Job Description

This position is for a software developer located 100% on-site in Woodlawn, MD, where the selected candidate must be willing to work five days a week. The role involves designing and developing software applications using Twelve-Factor App methodology guided by functional requirements. The candidate will engage in innovative UI design, create compliant Web components, and develop microservices using Spring Boot and RESTful architecture.

The responsibilities also include implementing frontend technologies (AngularJS, ReactJS, etc.), collaborating with cross-functional teams, developing SOAP-based web services, and maintaining Enterprise Java Batch applications. Additionally, the developer is expected to optimize applications in the cloud and contribute to continuous integration and DevOps processes.

Requirements

**Basic Qualifications:**

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience with Java, Spring Boot, Angular, React.
• Extensive design and programming skills in Java and JEE technologies.
• Hands-on experience with one or more frameworks such as Angular, React, and Express/Node.js.
• Experience working on Agile projects.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.

**Required Skills:**

• Experience designing high-throughput and low-latency systems.
• Proficient in Single-Page Application Architecture.
• Experience with cloud-native applications deployed on AWS.
• Strong knowledge of PaaS offerings such as Red Hat OpenShift and Docker.
• Deep understanding of web services technologies (SOAP/REST) and security protocols.
• Experience with automated unit testing and TDD/BDD methodologies.
• Proficient in software development tools for Continuous Integration.
• Knowledge of security vulnerabilities and performance tuning in web applications.

**Desired Skills:**

• Experience in implementing Kafka-based event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of the latest trends in Artificial Intelligence (AI).
• Prior experience with federal or state governments IT projects.
• Experience with low code platforms like ServiceNow, Pega, MS Power Platform etc.

Additional Information

The role also requires a commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with emerging technologies. The candidate is expected to create POCs and templates for BDD testing and support junior developers. Participation in customer meetings and providing viable technical solutions is essential, as well as contributing to architecture development and code quality improvements.
