Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and creative Freelance Videographer in the Dallas TX area. In this role, you will be responsible for capturing high-quality video footage, producing engaging visual content, and bringing stories to life through compelling videography and editing. Your expertise will help elevate our brand presence across multiple platforms, inspiring audiences and driving engagement through the Corporate, Event & Convention World. This freelance position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your artistic vision while collaborating with a passionate photographic team dedicated to Corporate Photography Excellence.

Requirements

• Video camera must be able to capture 4K MP4 video files (e.g., Canon C-70, Sony FX3).
• Must avoid using a DSLR that will overheat while shooting video.
• Compatible lenses for various situations, including fast lens (at least 2.8 for low light), 24-70MM, 16-35MM, and long lenses (70-200 MM or 300MM).
• Proven experience in videography and video production with a strong portfolio of diverse projects (minimum 6 years of experience in corporate video).
• Understanding of all aspects of video production, including frame rates, video capture rates, and optimal settings for resolution.
• Knowledge of lenses, tripods, gimbals, monopods, and handheld shooting techniques.
• Understanding of lighting conditions and audio recording for live events, including ambient and direct sound capture.
• Proficiency in video editing software including Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro, and knowledge of motion graphics design using Adobe Illustrator and After Effects.
• Strong understanding of post-production processes, editing workflows, color grading, sound design, and visual effects.
• Able to collaborate with clients, marketing teams, and stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver impactful visual content on time.

Freelance Videographer/Editor Role

• Ability to cover corporate live events using a variety of camera shots (wide, medium, and close-ups).
• Must own a mirrorless or cinema camera capable of shooting professional video codecs with manual control.
• Must have a collection of fast lenses (20-70, f2.8 is essential), tripod, and either monopod or gimbal.
• Action-style cams for timelapse are a plus.
• A good codec balancing quality vs file size is needed (e.g., 150Mbps 10bit codec for 4k).
• Proper exposure and white balance should be baked in, no RAW needed as files are often given to clients post-event.
• Ability to bring a laptop to events for transferring original media to a drive for clients.
• Working knowledge of video production fundamentals—composition, lighting, ISO, frame rate, codecs, and white balance adjustments.
• Flexibility and adaptability are essential as corporate events are not controlled environments.
• Communication skills to proactively assess client needs.
• Basic lighting setup including wired/wireless lav for interviews, 3-point lighting for formal settings, and microphones for multiple people.
• Comfortable with interviewing and directing individuals effectively.
• Proficient in recording formal interviews, and audio setups, especially for cameras.
• Ability to record long presentations and follow talent with appropriate camera techniques.
• Knowledge of post-production required for editing highlight reels and using professional editing software.
• Access to a royalty-free music library and ability to output video in clients’ preferred formats (often H264).
