Job Description

Colorado Chautauqua is hiring for the 2026 summer season! The Public Events team is looking for seasonal, part-time Audio Engineers to assist in stage and audio/visual aspects of event productions at Chautauqua for both CCA produced and rental events. Evening and weekend work is required in meeting position responsibilities.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of directly related experience in live audio and concert production.
• Advanced technical skills in sound reinforcement, acoustics, musical equipment, and general audio/visual equipment.
• Working knowledge of digital audio consoles including Avid based products.
• Experience with basic electricity and commercial grade electrical service including single and 3 phase connections.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Set-up, break down, wiring, and operation of house audio equipment including mixing consoles, microphones, and stage patching.
• Act as sound engineer (FOH or Monitor position) during events.
• Focus and operation of the in-house audio systems and AC power distribution equipment.
• Familiarization with tasks associated with mixing monitors on stage and mixing front of house sound.
• Awareness of the details and technical sequence of events during both setup and performance.

Compensation

Rate: $30 per hour or $450 per show
