Job Description

The Refinery is an award-winning entertainment advertising agency based in Los Angeles, CA. We partner with major studios to create social, digital, and print campaigns for theatrical, television, and streamer clients. We are looking for a freelance Senior 3D Artist to join our digital team as a remote independent contractor. This role will involve close collaboration with our creative teams, particularly in the Digital/Social sector, to develop high-profile entertainment campaigns.

Responsibilities

• Model, texture, and light 3D assets for motion graphics and design projects.
• Apply basic animation techniques, such as object movement and camera moves, to enhance 3D scenes as needed.
• Render at high resolutions efficiently.
• Collaborate with designers and producers across departments to meet creative goals.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Cinema 4D, Blender, and Element 3D.
• Solid understanding of basic animation functions within 3D software (keyframe animation and camera movement).
• Experience with After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
• Familiarity with digital formats and production pipelines for motion graphics.
• Highly reliable, self-disciplined, and comfortable working independently with tight deadlines.
• A fast, reliable internet connection for downloading and uploading large files.

Bonus

• Experience in the entertainment advertising or marketing industry.
• Knowledge of third-party plugins and software.
• Comfort with AE compositing and project prep for delivery.

Rate

$300 - $750/day. You will need to provide your freelance rate during the application process, but final rates will depend on qualifications, relevant experience, and overall skill set. Applicants outside the stated range are still encouraged to apply.

Additional Details

Official working hours are 9:30am–6:30pm PST. Hours may vary based on client needs and delivery timelines. This position is fully remote and requires availability to work according to PST.
