Job Description
Rocket Launch Studio is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Photo Editor to join our post-production crew. This role involves culling and editing images from portrait, headshot, and event sessions to deliver polished, consistent results to our clients efficiently and on time. This is a strong opportunity for someone looking to build steady freelance or part-time work within a structured creative team, with flexible schedules and consistent volume. There is also potential for expanded responsibilities as you become more familiar with our workflow.
Core Responsibilities
The photo editor will play a vital role in our delivery pipeline, focusing on detail-driven work that is directly tied to client satisfaction.
Primary Editing Work:
- Cull raw image selects from sessions, sorting out test shots, duplicates, and misfires.
- Perform base edits in Lightroom Classic including exposure, white balance, contrast, color correction, and basic skin tone management.
- Apply consistent corrections across sets using batch editing, presets, and sync tools.
- Export final files per delivery specifications and file naming conventions.
Advanced Retouching (Experience Dependent):
- Perform skin retouching and cleanup work in Photoshop.
- Assist with more complex compositing or finishing work as needed.
Requirements
We are open to newer editors and experienced retouchers; responsibilities will match your skillset.
- Software: Proficiency in Adobe Lightroom Classic, Camera Raw, and/or Photoshop preferred.
- Eye for Detail: Understand exposure, color accuracy, and skin tones; adept at noticing and fixing issues.
- Consistency: Maintain a cohesive look across sessions using systematic work methods.
- Communication: Clear and dependable communication skills.
- Turnaround: Serious about deadlines and provides realistic timelines.
- Organization: Comfortable working within defined folder structures and naming systems.

Work Location
Remote / Hybrid (Asset delivery handled digitally; occasional in-studio coordination in the Atlanta metro area)
