Job Description

Rocket Launch Studio is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Photo Editor to join our post-production crew. The primary responsibilities will include culling and editing images from portrait, headshot, and event sessions, ensuring efficient and polished results for clients. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking steady freelance or part-time work within a structured creative team, with flexibility and the potential for expanded responsibilities as familiarity with the workflow increases.

Core Responsibilities

The photo editor plays a crucial role in our delivery pipeline, focusing on detail-driven work that directly influences client satisfaction.

Primary Editing Work:

  • Cull raw image selects from portrait, headshot, and event sessions.
  • Perform base edits in Lightroom Classic including exposure, white balance, contrast, color correction, and basic skin tone management.
  • Apply consistent corrections across sets using batch editing, presets, and sync tools.
  • Export final files according to delivery specifications and file naming conventions.

Advanced Retouching (Experience Dependent):

  • Perform skin retouching and cleanup in Photoshop for headshot and portrait sessions.
  • Assist with complex compositing or finishing work as needed.

Requirements

We welcome applications from both newer editors and experienced retouchers, with responsibilities tailored to skills.

  • Software: Proficiency in Adobe Lightroom Classic, Camera Raw, and/or Photoshop.
  • Eye for Detail: Understanding of exposure, color accuracy, and skin tones.
  • Consistency: Ability to maintain a cohesive look across a session.
  • Communication: Clear and dependable communication skills.
  • Turnaround: Strong sense of deadlines and honest timeline management.
  • Organization: Comfortable working within a defined folder structure and delivery workflow.

Work Location: Remote / Hybrid (primarily digital asset delivery with occasional in-studio coordination in the Atlanta metro area)

Pay: $10.00 - $25.00 per hour
