Job Description

Colorado Chautauqua is hiring for the 2026 summer season! The Public Events team is looking for seasonal, part-time Lighting Engineers to bring our events to life using creative and effective lighting to share the audience experience. Evening and weekend work is required in meeting position responsibilities.

Requirements

As a Lighting Engineer, you will need the following:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in concert production, stage lighting and lighting console operation.
• Demonstrated proficiency with modern lighting consoles (e.g. Avolite, ETC, GrandMA)
• Technical expertise with conventional and intelligent (moving) light fixtures
• A solid understanding of basic electricity, power distribution, and DMX/RDM protocols

Duties and Responsibilities

Lighting operations: manage all aspects of the lighting for live events, including the set-up, breakdown, and operation of both house and touring lighting systems.

Programming and control: program and operate modern lighting consoles (e.g., Avolite, ETC, GrandMA) to ensure dynamic and precise lighting cues for live performances.

System management: set up, address and troubleshoot a variety of lighting fixtures, including conventional, LED, and intelligent/moving lights.

Networking: Assist with the setup and troubleshooting of networked lighting systems using protocols like Art-Net or sACN.

Compensation

Rate: $30 per hour or $450 per show
