Job Description

Show Me Your Mumu is looking for a temporary, part-time Junior Freelance Print Designer for the Textile Designer/Art Department. Candidates must be within reasonable commuting distance of the Mumu HQ office in Los Angeles, CA.

Core Duties

• Assist with organizing print strike off binders and fabric boards
• Assist with simple re-colors in Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop
• Assist with putting prints in repeat, print cleaning, and color updates
• Assist with setting up print pitch sheets and assigning pantones
• Assist in creating original art/graphics as needed
• Handle scanning fabric
• Assist with keeping the design team/area organized
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications

• Minimum internship to 1 year of work experience
• Passion for all things design
• Great eye for color
• Highly organized, resourceful, and dependable with excellent interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skills
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, portfolio of design work is strongly recommended
• Experience and knowledge in Textile Design, must be able to create Print Repeats in both Photoshop and Illustrator
• Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
• Ability to manage workflow and execute tasks from beginning to end
• Team player: this position will work with multiple members of the design team

Education

• Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Fashion Design, Graphic Design, or Textile Design
• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

Skills

• Knowledge of Adobe Suite
• Hand painting/drawing skills as well as digital illustration skills are a plus
• Proficient organizational skills
• General understanding of design and development process related to a variety of materials and fabrications
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask while paying close attention to detail

Additional Information

• Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
• Work Location: Hybrid remote in Los Angeles, CA 90021
