Who are you, and what do you do?
Victor Karassenko is a professional musician, singer and songwriter, originally from the former USSR. He was born in Novoorsk, in the Orenburg region on the southern Urals, where he finished school before studying at the conservatory, graduating with a higher degree in trombone performance. He went on to work in the Moscow Philharmonic as a member of the vocal ensemble “Sestry Knysh” and became a laureate of national competitions in Russia and Ukraine. After touring across many European countries, he settled in Lyon, France, where he has been living for around 30 years. Now retired but still very active musically, he plays guitar and trombone, sings, and writes original folk‑pop songs in Russian, English and French.
