Job Description

Liftlates is a weight training and athletic reformer pilates studio located in Downtown LA. We are looking for a freelance content creator to produce vlog-style fitness videos, edit podcast episodes, and build a consistent content engine across various platforms. This role involves capturing workouts, conversations, studio energy, and behind-the-scenes moments of our founder’s life to showcase the development of a fitness brand.

This position is focused on creating authentic, social-first content rather than corporate production. You’ll collaborate closely with our team on shoot days and be responsible for delivering raw footage, edited video cuts, and polished video podcast episodes that reflect your vision and style.

Requirements

- An active Instagram presence showcasing your visual style and editorial taste.

- Portfolio or examples of brand content you have shot and edited, particularly in fitness, wellness, or lifestyle.

- Experience in video podcast editing, including pacing conversations, cutting dead air, adding graphics, and enhancing viewer engagement.

- Experience in vlog-style and documentary-style shooting, capable of capturing real environments creatively.

- Proficiency in editing for short-form social media and long-form video content.

- Must own camera gear and have transportation for mobility and self-sufficiency.

- A collaborative and low-ego individual who can take direction and contribute ideas without making the shoot self-focused.

Nice to Have

- Experience in shooting and recording within gym or studio environments.

- Familiarity with trending audio, pacing, and formats on social media platforms like Reels and TikTok.

- Skills in color grading, drone or gimbal operation.

- Experience with long-form editing for YouTube and creating thumbnails.

Compensation & Details

- Compensation at $40/hour with approximately 20 hours of work per week across 2 flexible days.

- This is a 1099 freelance/contract position with consistent weekly work and potential growth as the brand expands.
