Job Description

An urgent requirement for a .Net Software Engineer on a contract basis in Canberra. The role involves implementing secure web-based business solutions, developing web APIs, and customer-facing web portal development using .NET Framework and related technologies.

Requirements

Essential Criteria:

Technical Skills:

• Minimum 5 years experience implementing secure web-based business solutions.
• Experience developing web APIs using Azure API Manager and customer-facing web portal development with .NET Framework (including .NET Core) and ASP.NET.
• Experience developing web applications using either Angular or React.
• Familiarity with the Information Security Manual (ISM), its controls, and application to solution design and build.
• Experience with unit/integration/automation testing including xUnit, nUnit, Selenium, and Playwright.Net.

Cloud Experience:

• Demonstrated experience in cloud-based solution implementation with technologies such as Azure Logic Apps, Azure SQL, Azure Service Bus, and Azure API Manager.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and Visual Studio for code development, management, repositories, and deployments (CI/CD).
• Integrating custom-built apps with third-party systems, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM.
• Extensive experience developing on Azure platforms and optimising complex legacy code to leverage the benefits of Azure Cloud environment.

• Experience working with Agile multi-disciplinary teams to deliver secure, user-friendly, and reliable solutions that meet stakeholder, citizen, and business expectations.
• Ability to pragmatically change direction and scope as new information is discovered and challenges or opportunities arise.

• Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical staff at all levels and mentor team members to promote team harmony.

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience in development using Agile and DevOps delivery models.
• Experience developing web applications using either Angular or React.
• Experience with Integration/UI/FrontEnd testing: Selenium, Playwright.Net, Jest.
• Tertiary qualifications in software design and development with experience working with SQL servers, Cosmos DB, Blob storage, and high-volume data traffic/processing.

Additional Information

Estimated start date: Wednesday, 01 July 2026.

Initial contract duration: 12 months with an extension term of 12 months and up to 2 additional extensions.

Experience level: APS6 equivalent.

Location of work: ACT, with onsite working arrangements. Remote working may be considered based on business needs.

Citizenship: Must be an Australian Citizen.

Security clearance: Must be able to obtain Baseline.
