Videographer / Camera Operator Intern

Freelance | Half Day / Full Day | $30/hour - $60/Hr (Experienced)

Waverly Productions is looking for a passionate and reliable Junior Videographer / Camera Operator to join our team on an as-needed freelance basis. This role is ideal for someone who is eager to grow in production, comfortable working in fast-paced environments, and confident operating camera and audio equipment in the field. You will help capture video content for reels, branded content, commercials, live activations, events, and more.

Requirements

• Experience filming content, events, sports, action, or live performances
• Strong technical understanding of camera operation, including exposure, white balance, focus, and audio
• Comfortable working independently and managing time effectively
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work 10–12 hour production days
• Comfortable filming in busy environments, including streets, crowds, loud music, flashing lights, and extended periods of standing or holding position
• Willing to travel with equipment for off-site shoots
• Must live within NYC or be willing to travel into the city at your own expense
• Strong attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills
• Basic experience with video editing software is a plus
• Color grading abilities are a strong plus

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate video, audio, and streaming equipment on-site
• Capture high-quality footage for content, commercials, events, and branded productions
• Conduct video and audio checks to ensure strong production quality
• Assist with filming, live stream support, and media management on set
• Upload, transfer, and organize footage after shoots, including FTP delivery or shipping media when needed
• Travel for off-site productions as required
• Support the team in fast-moving production environments while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail

Equipment Provided

All equipment will be provided. Applicants should be comfortable familiarizing themselves with and operating the following gear:

• Sony A7 IV
• 28mm–70mm lens
• DJI RS 5 Combo
• Viltrox DC-X2 with sunshade
• DJI Wireless Mics
