Job Description

The Refinery is an award-winning entertainment advertising agency in Los Angeles, CA, looking for a freelance 3D Generalist to join our digital team as a remote independent contractor. This role involves close collaboration with our creative teams, specifically within the Digital/Social sector, on high-profile entertainment campaigns. Responsibilities

• Model, texture, and light 3D assets for use in motion graphics and design projects.
• Apply basic animation techniques (object movement, camera moves) to enhance 3D scenes as needed.
• Render at high resolutions efficiently.
• Collaborate with designers and producers across departments to meet creative goals.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Blender and/or Cinema 4D, Adobe Substance.
• Solid understanding of basic animation functions within 3D software (keyframe animation, camera movement).
• Experience with After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator.
• Ability to speed-learn 3rd party software per project needs.
• Familiarity with digital formats and production pipelines for motion graphics.
• Highly reliable, self-disciplined, and comfortable working independently with tight turnarounds.
• A fast, reliable internet connection for downloading/uploading large files.

Bonus

• Experience in the entertainment advertising or marketing industry.
• Knowledge of third-party plugins and software.
• Comfort with AE compositing and project prep for delivery.

Rate

$300 - $750/day. Final rates are based on qualifications, years of relevant experience, and overall skill set. If your rate falls outside the stated range, we still encourage you to apply.

Additional Details

Official working hours are 9:30am–6:30pm PST. Hours may fluctuate based on client needs and delivery timelines. This position is fully remote and must be available to work on PST.
