Job Description

Big State Sports is a media company specializing in live broadcasts of high school athletics in New Jersey. We aim to highlight the positive aspects of New Jersey high school sports through accessible live broadcasts on our YouTube channel. We are seeking experienced live broadcast producers to lead small crews for our expanding coverage, particularly for football broadcasts during the fall season, although candidates interested in other sports are encouraged to apply. This is a freelance position, and we are looking for talent from all over New Jersey.

Requirements

We are looking for individuals with the following qualifications:

• Experience in live sports production with the ability to run a broadcast from setup through closing.
• Ability to direct and manage small broadcast crews (3–4 people) on-site.
• Technical proficiency to handle setup, operation, and breakdown of production equipment.
• Experience running live broadcast elements, including replays, sponsor graphics, and scoreboard updates.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate between camera operators and commentators.
• Capability to troubleshoot technical issues in real time, including basic Windows 11 laptop and OBS-related problems.
• Ability to maintain broadcast standards and workflow under live-event conditions.
• Organized, driven, adaptable, and able to make quick decisions in fast-paced environments.
• Composed under pressure and able to work well with a small crew.
