Job Description

Rhystic Media is a hands-on management agency working with culturally relevant creators, models, and musicians to enhance their digital presence across platforms. We are currently hiring a Social Content Creator Assistant in Portland, Oregon, for an individual passionate about social media. The ideal candidate understands not just how to edit but what performs well and how to create platform-specific content, particularly for TikTok and Instagram. This role requires a strong focus on short-form content rather than traditional video production.

This position involves both the ideation and execution of content, requiring skills in filming, editing, and quick turnaround times without compromising quality. The Social Content Creator Assistant will work closely with the creator and team in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where effective communication, adaptability, and a strong aesthetic sensibility are critical.

Requirements

What You’ll Do:

• Film and edit short-form video content for TikTok and Instagram
• Shoot and edit photos for social media and digital use
• Capture talent in a flattering, elevated way with a strong understanding of angles, lighting, and composition
• Execute creative direction while contributing ideas based on current trends and platform behavior
• Quickly produce high-quality content
• Assist with in-person shoots, content days, and activations
• Manage post-production across multiple pieces of content simultaneously
• Communicate clearly and proactively with the creator and team
• Ensure timely and premium standard delivery of content

What You’ll Bring:

• Proven experience creating short-form content for TikTok and Instagram
• Deep understanding of social platforms, trends, pacing, and shareability
• Strong instinct for shooting talent with an eye for flattering angles, lighting, and composition
• Proficiency in CapCut, Instagram Edits, Adobe Premiere, and Photoshop
• Strong eye for framing, pacing, and storytelling for short-form content
• Able to work quickly under tight deadlines and shifting priorities
• Positive attitude and ability to handle pressure well
• Clear and consistent communication skills
• Comfortable taking direction while also contributing creatively
• Highly organized with the capacity to manage multiple deliverables

Nice to Have:

• Cosplay experience or familiarity with cosplay culture
• Graphic design experience

Role Details

This is a freelance/contract position, requiring a mix of in-person shoots and remote editing work. The hours are flexible with some fixed shooting requirements, ranging from 10 to 30 hours per week, with opportunities for scaling up. The pay for this position is between $25.00 and $45.00 per hour, and the work location is hybrid remote in Portland, OR (Multnomah County).
