Job Description
AgileEngine is seeking a Data Engineer (FinOps) to build and scale data solutions that drive cost transparency and performance optimization across cloud environments. In this role, you will leverage SQL, Python, and modern orchestration tools to develop pipelines, datasets, and automation frameworks that facilitate accurate cost attribution and informed financial decision-making. This position offers significant cross-functional impact, collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Finance teams to uncover cost-saving opportunities and implement scalable, data-driven FinOps practices.
Requirements
MUST HAVES:
- 4+ years of experience in FinOps, Cloud Engineering, or Data Engineering
- Strong experience with SQL and Python
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as dbt, Airflow, or Dagster
- Experience designing and maintaining ELT/ETL pipelines
- Strong background in data modeling and schema design
- Experience with AWS services and Snowflake
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP and observability tools like Datadog
- Strong analytical skills focused on data auditing and validation
- FinOps certification
- Upper-intermediate English level
NICE TO HAVES:
- Experience with Scala
- Experience with large-scale datasets and distributed systems
- Understanding of cloud cost optimization strategies
- Experience in data-driven and cross-functional environments
