Job Description

The position is a .Net Web Developer III needed for the development, maintenance, and support of critical priority applications in the Administrative Services Division, Worker’s Compensation Division, and Equal Rights Division. Candidates will play an integral role on self-directed work teams in support of high-priority development projects. Project work will include application architecture design and development, integration with 3rd party software, data conversion, new development, and modifications to existing code. Successful candidates will have demonstrated success in designing, creating, and maintaining web services, system integration, web development, and Agile Scrum development methodology.

Preference will be given to qualified candidates with familiarity with State of Wisconsin application systems, procedures, and development standards. The Department of Workforce Development (DWD) is currently allowing remote work from any of the contiguous states of the United States, but will attempt to procure candidates from within Wisconsin initially and will open up the search nationally if no one can be selected from the first in-state posting.

The contractor will be required to be available online, present to meet all workload requirements, and must attend all scheduled meetings during DWD standard working hours of 7:45 am – 4:30 pm Central Time. DWD reserves the right to make changes or modifications to this arrangement with reasonable advance notice.

Requirements

Top Required Skill and Years of Experience:

• C# (5 years)
• Relational database experience (4 years)
• Previous work in government, insurance, accounting or case management (4 years)

Nice to Have Skills:

• Google Cloud or Microsoft Azure Cloud experience
• WPF

Additional details: The successful candidate will be highly technically competent, a consistently high producer, a good communicator, and an overall team player. All candidates submitted with inconsistencies or falsifications in their credentials will be disqualified, and DOA purchasing will be notified.

Additional Comments

The contractor must be available to work onsite in DWD Madison WI headquarters GEF-1 location at DWD’s request, including consecutive weekdays or extended periods, without reimbursement for travel, lodging, or parking expenses. DWD prefers that the selected contract resource resides in the greater Madison area.
