Job Description
The Creative Director (Copy) at WPP Production is responsible for writing headlines and localizing copy for Technology client marketing communications, which includes web, in-store, direct mail, and various other materials. This role involves supervising the adaptation of copy originally written in U.S. English for other markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write, review, and empower campaigns for the client’s brand and products, while developing culturally relevant concepts for the U.S. Hispanic market.
- Maintain a consistent brand tone of voice, personality, and cultural relevance across different media formats.
- Create or transcreate copy ensuring clarity and effective communication of the strategic or product points.
- Guide and maintain the quality of translated long copy.
- Review, rewrite, and approve all translated marketing copy from writing teams.
- Attend on-site confidential projects in the U.S. as required.
Requirements
- Creative thinker with solid copywriting skills.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in the advertising agency world, ideally from leading creative agencies.
- Experience as a copywriter and copy-based Creative Director/Transcreator.
- Experience working on international and local brands.
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Spanish.
- Thorough understanding of the Hispanic culture in the U.S.
- Ability to understand language subtleties, especially in adapting headlines.
- Conceptual creative capable of generating big ideas and focusing on minutiae.
- Obsessed with excellent writing that is thoughtful, meaningful, provocative, clear, and inspiring.
- Team player who can collaborate effectively with Editors and creative teams.
- In-country based / Spanish-native level.
- Tech-savvy with familiarity in using Mac (or willingness to learn).
- Good knowledge of technology products in the market.
- Must be able to travel as required, sometimes for several weeks at a time.
