Job Description

ARK Therapeutic is seeking a local photographer in or near Columbia, SC for ongoing product and lifestyle photography. The focus will be on creating clean hero shots, detail shots, and lifestyle shots featuring children and adults using our oral motor and sensory products. An independent photographer is preferred over an agency.

Requirements

Photo Needs:

  • Product Photography: Clean hero shots from multiple angles, flat lays, and detail shots. Must have a strong eye for color accuracy, focus, lighting, and texture. New product launches occur irregularly, and each launch will typically require a few hours of shooting, either at ARK’s office or the photographer’s location.
  • Lifestyle Photography: Capture kids and adults using the products in various settings (home, clinic, school). Experience working with children is essential, and the photographer should be able to take direction on details such as hand position and posture. A baseline of two half-day lifestyle shoots per year is expected, often coinciding with product launches.

Working Style:

  • 1099/vendor relationship, not a hire
  • Reliable, organized, and communicative, comfortable with a shot list and able to provide feedback on what is working on set
  • Able to livestream or tether photos as they are taken for real-time review by an ARK team member
  • Open to ongoing repeat work if it’s a good fit
  • Bonus: Video capability or a partnership with a regular videographer

Practical Considerations:

  • Located within about a 1.5-hour drive of Columbia, SC
  • Bonus: A network of models available for coordination and scheduling for lifestyle shoots
  • Reasonable rates suitable for a small brand with a steady, returning client base
