Job Description

The Network Cloud Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting the infrastructure network architectures. The role requires expertise in cloud networking, routing and switching, security integration, data center design, and SD-WAN technologies. The architect will define target-state network architectures, produce high/low-level designs, lead technology pilots, and ensure compliance with relevant standards.

Requirements

Experience Required: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in network architecture.

Education: Minimum BS/BA degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology.

Must Have Skills:

  • Routing & Switching: Expertise in OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, IPv4/IPv6, NAT, and multicast.
  • Data Center & Campus: Familiarity with VXLAN/EVPN fabrics, Wi-Fi 6/6E, and RF planning.
  • WAN / Edge / Remote: Experience with SD-WAN and Zero Trust access patterns.
  • Security Integration: Knowledge of next-gen firewalls, micro-segmentation, and device hardening techniques.
  • Cloud Networking: Proficient in AWS, Azure, and GCP services including VPCs, routing, and hybrid connectivity.
  • Wireless and Remote Access: Implementation of enterprise Wi-Fi and remote access VPNs.

Additional Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication, documentation skills, and the ability to lead discussions and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Architecture & Design: Define and design network architectures and produce necessary documentation.
  • Implementation & Delivery: Lead technology pilots and guide implementation teams.
  • Security & Compliance: Embed Zero Trust principles and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Operations & Reliability: Define metrics and drive problem management processes.
  • Automation and Network Management: Use automation tools for network provisioning and management.
  • Governance & Leadership: Own the technology roadmap and mentor engineering teams.

Other Information

The successful candidate should be a self-starter and have strong analytical skills, be familiar with scripting and automation tools like Python, Ansible, or Terraform, and understand Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles. Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with both executive and engineering audiences.
