Job Description

MugsyClicks is a family-owned and operated school portrait company located in San Rafael, providing school portraiture to over 150 schools in SF, East Bay, Marin, and Sonoma. We are seeking established, experienced photographers specializing in child portraiture, families, weddings, and event photography. Our ideal candidate excels in a fast-paced environment and has a talent for coaxing smiles. Photographers will be responsible for creating authentic, expressive portraits outdoors while traveling to different school locations each day.

Requirements

• Reliable transportation to travel to school locations
• Professional experience photographing children, families, weddings, or events
• Strong natural-light photography skills (studio lighting experience a plus)
• Professional references demonstrating reliability and quality
• Required gear: DSLR or mirrorless camera (Canon Mark III/IV, R5 series, or equivalent), 24–70mm lens, 70–200mm f/2.8–f/4 lens

What You’ll Do

• Photograph students outdoors using natural light
• Create authentic, expressive portraits in a fast-moving environment
• Travel to a new school location each day
• Work closely with a supportive team of photographers and assistants
• Represent MugsyClicks with professionalism and warmth

Schedule & Pay

• Seasonal dates: August – November
• Hours: Monday–Friday, approx. 7 a.m. – 2 p.m.
• Minimum availability: 3 days/week during the busy season
• Compensation: $50/hr for qualified photographers
• Assignment value: Typically $150–$400 per job
