Freelance Product Designer (Branding, Packaging, Illustration) — Part-Time, Remote

About Apos is a community-driven enthusiast product company based in the San Francisco Bay Area. We build our products for and with the people who use them. Concepts start in the community, get refined through feedback, and end up as real products on desks, in studios, and on shelves. We’ve got a steady cadence of product launches ahead, and we’re looking for a designer to help shape how those products show up in the world.

You’ll work with us remotely to bring new products to life from concept through final execution, which may include logo design, packaging design (concept to print-ready files), illustration, and brand direction for individual product launches. You’ll be collaborating with our internal team, executing on direction and helping define it. Some projects may touch industrial design, but experience in this field is not required.

Requirements

• Strong portfolio across packaging, physical product design, and illustration
• A clear point of view: you have taste, you have opinions, and you’re comfortable pushing back when something could be better
• Ability to shift styles depending on the product: from playful and expressive to clean and more buttoned-up
• Understanding of packaging fundamentals: dielines, print requirements, production-ready files
• Comfortable working collaboratively and moving quickly

Details

• Remote (U.S.-based preferred)
• $30/hour
• ~20 hours per week to start
• Short trial period
• Potential to grow into more hours, higher rates, and full-time work
