Job Description
We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer (.NET / Blazor) for the Texas Department of Agriculture. This role involves designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-level web-based applications in a fast-paced Agile environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in C#, .NET Core, Blazor, SQL/Oracle, and full SDLC lifecycle, along with the ability to work closely with business and technical teams.
Responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain web-based applications using C#, .NET Core, and Blazor
- Develop front-end and back-end components using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and SQL
- Write and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures (SQL Server/Oracle)
- Perform root cause analysis, debugging, and production support
- Lead and participate in SDLC activities including design, development, testing, and deployment
- Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and stakeholders to gather requirements
- Support application releases, enhancements, and maintenance activities
- Ensure application security and compliance with standards
- Use Azure DevOps/Jira for tracking and Agile delivery
Requirements
Required Skills:
- 8+ years of experience in software development
- Strong experience in C#, .NET Core / .NET
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Blazor
- Experience with SQL Server and Oracle (Stored Procedures)
- Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS, JavaScript
- Experience with full SDLC lifecycle
- Experience in Agile methodology
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar tools
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with state or government applications
- Experience with licensing or regulatory systems
- Knowledge of WCAG / accessibility standards
- Experience migrating legacy systems to .NET Core / Blazor

Client: Texas Department of Agriculture
Duration: 3 Months Contract (Extension Possible)
