Job Description

The Technical Specialist is responsible for the technical set up and operation of enhanced mid-level production events in a hospitality environment, while ensuring the utmost in client satisfaction. This position reports to an Associate Director of Project Management or Director of Project Management in their assigned area.

Key Job Responsibilities

Equipment Operation

• Ensures a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of advanced audiovisual equipment.
• Troubleshoots technical issues and resolves problems quickly as they arise.
• Complies with all Company security and safety measures.
• Ensures equipment is secure from theft and/or damage when in use.

Customer Service

• Provides excellent service and strives to exceed customer expectations.
• Maintains positive relationships with all clients through effective communication.
• Collaborates with internal teams on event solutions to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Understands and fosters the hotel/client relationship.

Training/Staff Development

• Fosters the development of technical and leadership skills in other employees.
• Provides mentorship and coaching to technical, sales, and operations team members.
• Develops self as a subject matter expert in their discipline.
• Stays current with technology and industry trends.

Event Supervision

• Performs advanced work with operations team members before, during, and after events.
• Supervises and directs other technicians during an event.

Equipment Maintenance

• Assists in the proper security, storage, inventory, transportation, and maintenance of equipment.
• Performs inventory and forecasting of equipment needs.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
• 3+ years of event technology experience with a specialty in Audio, Lighting, Projection, or Video is required.
• 3-4 years of customer service or hospitality experience is preferred.
• Must meet all training and certification requirements as determined by Encore’s Global Learning Training Program, for both internal and external applicants.
• Ability to interact professionally and effectively with a diverse workforce, customer base, and senior-level management.
• Strong customer, client, and coworker interface experience and abilities.
• A valid driver’s license is required for positions that may operate Company vehicles.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Work Environment

Hotel: Work is performed in a hotel/convention center environment with exposure to outdoor temperatures and to dirt, sand, and/or dust. Conditions may vary in sound levels, and work may be required in multiple hotel locations with irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Warehouse: Work is also performed in a warehouse environment with similar exposure conditions. Appearance guidelines apply similarly as in hotel environments.

Hourly Pay Range: $25.19 - $32.75. The compensation offered is determined based on qualifications and may include additional compensation such as overtime or bonuses.
