Job Description

Dream Home NY LLC (midtown NYC) is seeking an experienced, talented, highly creative, and strategic Branding and Packaging Designer - Soft Goods (Home), primarily in the Kitchen-Table category (including Shower curtains, Christmas Tree Skirts/Stockings). Experience working with retailers such as HomeGoods, TJX Companies, or Marshalls is highly preferred. Candidates residing within the commuting area of NYC are preferred (NYC metropolitan area, NY-Long Island, NJ).

Responsibilities

  • Design Logos - develop branding for everyday & seasonal assortments.
  • Packaging - lifestyle images, new looks, templates, foils & finishes, paper textures, etc.
  • Assist in other packaging projects as needed.
  • Develop visual brand strategies, including logo design, color palettes, typography, and visual language that align with the off-price retail environment.
  • Create eye-catching packaging designs that are both functional and aesthetically appealing, adhering to production specifications and industry standards.

Qualifications

  • While the role is remote, candidate must be available to come into midtown NYC office & showroom as needed, especially at the beginning.
  • 3-4 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator 5+ yrs / Photoshop 3+ yrs).
  • Vector Illustration (2+ years) is a plus.
  • Strong typography skills are a plus.
  • Experience using AI image generation is a plus.
  • A portfolio demonstrating branding, packaging design, and art direction.
  • Strong skills in illustration, photo manipulation, color management, typography, and layout design.
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Pay and Benefits

Pay range: Hourly (TBD by experience/background) or per project. Pay: Up to $40.00 per hour.
