Job Description

Job Type: Freelance | Contract (3 months)

Location: Remote (attendance to the August anniversary event in NYC required)

Duration: June 1 to August 31, 2026 (approximately 13 weeks)

Compensation: $3,000 to $4,000 per month (based on experience)

BlackHouse is a NYC-based, award-winning, Women and Black owned event production agency founded in 2016. Their mission is to create impactful experiences for corporations, brands, and non-profit organizations. The company focuses on bridging the gap between ideation and execution, providing comprehensive event production services while cultivating a unique and authentic work environment for their team.

Position Summary:

The Content Creator will produce a serialized documentary campaign for BlackHouse’s 10-year anniversary across LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube. This role requires expertise in documentary storytelling, short-form video editing, and LinkedIn strategy. The individual will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to source archive material, integrate live production capture, and deliver content packages in a timely manner.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Produce documentary-style content across five recurring franchises.
  2. Conduct founder interviews to source content for The Decade Download franchise.
  3. Source and curate archive material for a retrospective track.
  4. Capture and integrate live content from various 2026 productions.
  5. Develop campaign arc, content templates, and a 10-week posting calendar.
  6. Edit short-form video content for multiple platforms.
  7. Apply LinkedIn-specific content strategy for B2B channels.
  8. Conduct light-touch performance reporting on content performance.
  9. Write captions, scripts, and copy in line with BlackHouse brand voice.
  10. Manage content approval workflow and publish approved content.
  11. Maintain the campaign content calendar and deliver weekly packages.

Qualifications | Experience:

  1. 3+ years producing content in the events or entertainment industry.
  2. Strong documentary capture and editing portfolio.
  3. Proficiency in short-form video editing tools.
  4. Fluency across two or more platforms: LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube short form.
  5. Knowledge of LinkedIn content strategy for B2B branding.
  6. Strong writing skills for captions and scripts.
  7. Familiarity with content approval workflows.
  8. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  9. Comfort with communication and asset organization tools.

Personal Qualifications:

  1. Service-brand sensibility focused on brand rather than personal branding.
  2. Documentary instinct to find compelling stories.
  3. Editorial discipline, ensuring direct communication.
  4. Comfort with iterative processes and structured workflows.
  5. Discretion across client engagements.
  6. Self-starter with proactive communication and availability for check-ins.
  7. Able to travel to NYC for the anniversary event, if not local.
  8. Professionalism under tight production deadlines.
