Full Stack Developer

We are Steel Buildings & Structures Inc., a manufacturing company based in Mount Airy, NC United States. We are looking to hire a fully remote full time North American based employee. There is opportunity to move to home office
We are looking for a self-directed developer who is comfortable working across the entire stack. You won’t just be a “ticket-taker”; you’ll collaborate on priorities and help us decide the best way to build features that streamline our business.
Your focus will include:
Product Configurator: Enhancing our customer-facing 3D/interactive tools.
Internal Tools: Expanding our Django-based CRM and order portal to improve workflow efficiency.
Digital Ecosystem: Maintaining a handful of sister sites and ensuring seamless API integrations.

Our Tech Stack:
Backend: Python (Django 5, Django REST Framework), Java, Postgres, Redis.
Frontend: React 18, Vite, Bootstrap, Three.js.
Infrastructure: Docker, Linux (Nginx), basic CI/CD via webhooks.
CMS: Wagtail (Django-based) and WordPress.

What You’ll Need (Required):
4+ Years of Professional Experience: Specifically with Python, Django, and DRF in a production environment.
Java Proficiency: Ability to leverage Java for backend development and system integration.
Full-Stack Fluency: Solid React experience (Hooks, Router, Forms). You don’t need to be a designer, but you must be comfortable shipping frontend features.
Database Skills: High fluency in Postgres/SQL. You should be comfortable writing joins and optimizing queries without relying solely on the ORM.
Tooling: Proficient with Git, Docker, and Linux from the terminal.
Autonomy: We operate with a “light process” environment. You need to be able to manage your time and projects effectively without heavy hand-holding.

Nice to Haves:
Experience with Wagtail or other Django-based CMS platforms, and Advanced Python.
Familiarity with PHP/WordPress for occasional maintenance tasks.
Knowledge of Three.js, WebGL, React.
Experience integrating 3rd-party APIs
