Job Description

Halogen Engineering Group is seeking a Software Engineer with over 5 years of experience and a current TS/SCI w/Poly clearance. The role involves collaborating with Product Owners, System Engineers, and Project Software Engineers to design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and maintain a mission-focused enterprise web application deployed in a containerized Kubernetes Linux environment. Responsibilities include designing, developing, deploying, documenting, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems based on documented requirements, including areas such as analytics, algorithm development, data manipulation, and real-time systems.

Requirements

• Experience with Linux CLI and Tool Suite.
• Experience developing Bash/Python scripts.
• Proficient in developing with Python in a Linux environment.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker.
• Familiarity with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes.
• Experience creating Helm Charts for Kubernetes services.
• Knowledge of SQL technologies such as MySQL.
• Experience designing and implementing REST interfaces.
• Familiarity with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI.
• Experience with Git Source Control System.

Desired Skills

• Experience with the Django Web framework.
• Experience with the Celery Task Scheduler.
• Familiarity with NGINX.
• Experience with the Atlassian Suite of Tools (Jira and Confluence).
• Experience with AI Development Tools (e.g., Claude Code).

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science or related discipline with 3 years of relevant experience, or
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline with 5 years of relevant experience, or
• Seven years of relevant experience in software engineering.

Salary Range

The projected compensation range for this position is $218K to $225K (annualized USD). Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, skills, competencies, and experience.
