Job Description

The Division of Technology Services is seeking a .NET Programmer to support major web application initiatives for economic assistance programs such as SNAP and TANF. The selected candidate will join the Web Application Development team, contributing to the design and development of enterprise applications. This position requires expertise in full-stack .NET development, web services, database-driven applications, and enterprise integrations. The role is hybrid, requiring 3 days onsite in Columbia, SC.

Requirements

Experience Required: 08+ Years

Candidate Location: Must be a resident of South Carolina or willing to relocate prior to starting the role at their own expense.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field OR equivalent work experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise-level web applications using .NET technologies.
• Participate in the development of new Economic Services systems including registration, interview center, and eligibility platforms.
• Develop robust front-end and back-end components using C#, ASP.NET, MVC, Angular, and related technologies.
• Build and maintain web services, APIs, and application integrations.
• Collaborate with software engineers and technical leads to understand subsystem requirements and implement solutions.
• Design and document software subsystems, components, and technical specifications.
• Implement, debug, and optimize software components and application modules.
• Develop unit tests and support deployment activities.
• Participate in integrated testing sessions across test and production environments.
• Analyze system-level design decisions and communicate impacts.
• Support technical infrastructure including source code repositories and build systems.
• Work with SQL Server databases for design, development, and reporting.
• Assist in creating secure, scalable, and high-performance application architectures.
• Mentor junior developers and share technical expertise.
• Participate in Agile development activities and ensure adherence to standards.
• Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to deliver project objectives.

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years designing and implementing medium to large-scale software systems using .NET architecture.
• 5+ years developing data-driven applications using SQL Server.
• 5+ years building web-based applications using N-tier architecture.
• 5+ years experience with dynamic web content and secure application models.
• 2+ years experience with Angular/AngularJS.
• Strong hands-on experience with C#, ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC.
• Experience with web services, API development, and service-oriented architecture.
• Experience with SQL Server and database integrations.
• Experience with TFS for source control and build management.
• Strong debugging, testing, and deployment experience.
