Job Description

This is a remote position. We are looking for a detail-oriented Front-End Web Developer with strong WordPress and CMS experience to support both internal and client website projects. This role focuses on translating designs into high-quality, responsive websites and maintaining existing digital platforms. This is a freelance/project-based role.

Requirements

What You’ll Do

• Build, update, and maintain websites across WordPress and other CMS platforms
• Design and develop custom WordPress themes, creating concepts in tools such as Figma or Adobe XD
• Translate design concepts into pixel-perfect, responsive, accessible front-end code
• Create landing pages in platforms such as WordPress and HubSpot
• Manage staging, testing, and deployment workflows
• Perform ongoing site maintenance (content updates, plugin management, performance improvements)
• Evaluate current technologies and recommend improvements
• Build custom pages such as event registration and campaign microsites
• Ensure websites meet accessibility standards, including WCAG and Section 508 compliance, and address issues through testing and remediation

What You Bring

• 3+ years of professional web development experience
• Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive/mobile-first development
• Experience developing custom WordPress themes (not just theme modifications)
• Familiarity with CMS platforms such as WordPress and HubSpot
• Proficiency using design tools such as Figma or Adobe XD to create and iterate on concepts
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to manage deadlines and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams
• Understanding of brand consistency and design systems
• Demonstrated experience implementing accessibility standards (WCAG, Section 508)

Nice to Have

• Experience working on federal or government-funded projects
• HubSpot development experience
• Basic understanding of SEO and site performance optimization

Working Style

• Available during standard business hours (Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm)
• Comfortable working across multiple projects and priorities
• Proactive communicator who can work independently when needed
