Job Description

Halogen Engineering Group is seeking a Software Engineer with extensive expertise in dataflow design, data transport mechanisms, and Apache Spark-based distributed processing. The role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing data ingress/egress pathways for efficient and scalable analytics workloads. The candidate will be responsible for a variety of software system tasks, including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of complex software systems. This involves working with large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems. The candidate will work individually or as part of a team to ensure software components meet design requirements.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Current TS/SCI clearance with polygraph (must be less than seven years old).
• Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux tools.
• Experience developing Bash scripts for automation.
• Recent software development experience using Python and Java.
• Experience with Apache Airflow for orchestrating workflows.
• Familiarity with SQL technologies such as MySQL, MariaDB, and PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with data wrangling and preprocessing using tools such as pandas, NumPy.
• Experience working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data formats.
• Familiarity with data quality concepts and anomaly detection.
• Experience with Git as a source control system.

Desired Skills

• Familiarity with HPC Job Scheduling tools like Slurm.
• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence).

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science or related discipline and five years of relevant experience.
• OR Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline and seven years of relevant experience.
• OR Nine years of relevant experience without a degree.

Compensation

The projected salary range for this position is $234K to $241K annually, based on various factors such as education, skills, experience, and organizational requirements.
