Job Description

Halogen Engineering Group is looking for a Software Engineer who will possess extensive expertise in dataflow design, data transport mechanisms, and Apache Spark-based distributed processing. This role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing data ingress/egress pathways to ensure efficient, scalable, and reliable processing of the organization’s analytics workloads. The Software Engineer will design, develop, test, deploy, document, maintain, and enhance complex software systems based on documented requirements. Responsibilities include processing intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulating large data sets, and integrating data management systems. The engineer may work individually or as part of a team, reviewing and testing software components for adherence to design requirements and documenting test results.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• Current TS/SCI security clearance with a polygraph (must be less than seven years old).
• Experience with dataflow design and transport mechanisms.
• Proficient in Apache Spark and distributed processing engines.
• Experience developing in Unix and performing shell scripting.
• Familiar with Configuration Management tools and Web Services implementation.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, Java, etc.
• Experience with agile development processes, source code control systems (e.g., Git), and collaboration tools (e.g., Atlassian Suite).
• Experience with cloud-based solutions, relational/non-relational databases, and data management technologies.
• Master’s degree in computer science or related discipline with five years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with seven years of experience, or nine years of experience in similar roles.

Salary Range

The projected compensation range for this position is $234K to $241K (annualized USD)
