Job Description
This is a remote position.
Achieva Systems builds intelligent transport and road safety technology. We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team.
What you’ll do:
- Deploy our software platform at customer sites — both cloud-hosted (Azure / AWS) and on-premise inside client data centres.
- Integrate our platform with networked devices including cameras and sensors, using REST APIs and TCP / UDP protocols.
- Maintain and extend the existing TypeScript / Node.js / Next.js / PostgreSQL codebase.
- Set up and operate CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and incident response.
- Visit client sites across India 2-4 times per quarter for commissioning and training.
Requirements
Required:
- 3 to 6 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Node.js (or TypeScript backend equivalent) and React or Next.js.
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or comparable relational databases.
- Working knowledge of Docker and Linux production environments.
- Experience deploying applications to at least one major cloud (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Comfortable owning a production deployment end-to-end, including handling incidents.
- Strong written English; able to communicate clearly with international vendors and the Australia-based team.
- Willing to travel within India for client site visits and to be on-call during pilots.
Highly Preferred:
- Experience integrating with networked hardware, IP cameras, RTSP / ONVIF streams, or IoT devices.
- Experience deploying inside enterprise or government environments (offline / restricted / on-premise installations).
- Familiarity with monorepos (pnpm / Turborepo), Prisma ORM, or modern TypeScript tooling.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
Additional Information
This position requires visiting client sites in India 2-4 times per quarter for commissioning and training.
