Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Backend / Drupal Developer to join our innovative development team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust backend solutions and Drupal-based websites that deliver seamless user experiences. Your expertise will drive the development of scalable, secure, and high-performance web applications, supporting our mission to provide cutting-edge digital solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide platform feasibility review for Strategic Brief and feasibility deliverables.
• Execute taxonomy and menu API spike for Baseline IA.
• Map content type structures during the content audit.
• Configure content types behind Key Page Mockups.
• Evaluate URL structure and redirect feasibility.
• Provide integration recommendations input to UX Recommendations report.
• Perform CMS configuration including content types, views, and blocks.
• Adjust content types in support of editorial workflows.
• Author content type migration scripts.
• Provide manual page migration support.
• Implement server-side 301 redirects.
• Configure alt text, ARIA attributes, and semantic markup support.
• Resolve backend defects during QA and verification.
• Document backend and integration designs for governance.
• Apply hyper-care backend fixes.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of Drupal backend development.
• PHP 8+ proficiency.
• Drupal Migrate API experience.
• Strong experience with Drupal content types, Views, and Blocks.
• Integration experience (REST, JSON:API, custom services).
• Demonstrated experience implementing 301 redirects at scale.

Preferred Qualifications

• Acquia Certified Backend Developer.
• Drupal core or contrib module development.
• Experience with state agency or healthcare content domains.
• Familiarity with HIPAA-aware content workflows.

Additional Information

Work Schedule: Remote (with some possibility of on-site visit)

Candidate Location: Candidates within commutable distance from Baltimore, MD (preferred)

Duration: 9 Months (possibility of extension)

Job Types: Contract, Temporary

Pay: From $40.00 per hour

License/Certification:

• Acquia Certified Backend Developer certification (Preferred)
