Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Backend Java Developer with 10+ years of experience to support the expansion of a large-scale Open Banking platform for a leading financial institution. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced backend engineer who thrives in cloud-native environments and enjoys driving technical excellence, mentoring team members, and building secure, scalable solutions.

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 4 days onsite)

Contract: 6 months (Potential Extension)

Requirements

Required Experience:

• 10+ years of hands-on Java development experience, including Spring Boot
• Strong expertise with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis
• Experience deploying and managing containerized applications on GCP using Kubernetes
• CI/CD pipeline implementation and automation experience
• REST API design and development expertise
• Strong understanding of object-oriented and functional programming principles
• Experience with security scanning, vulnerability remediation, and secure coding practices
• Ability to provide technical leadership, code reviews, and mentorship

Nice to Have:

• React.js and Node.js experience
• OAuth2 and SSO implementation experience
• Agile delivery experience
• Experience with modern JavaScript technologies including TypeScript and Jest
