Job Description

Halogen Engineering Group is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer with over 8 years of experience to develop, maintain, and enhance complex Big-Data Cloud systems based on documented requirements. The role involves contributions to all stages of back-end processing, software testing, and resolving software problem reports. Candidates will provide expertise in Cloud Computing, the Hadoop Ecosystem, and software design methodologies while working individually or as part of a team.

Salary Range: The projected compensation range for this position is $213K - $219K (annualized USD), determined by factors such as location and individual qualifications.

Requirements

1. A minimum of eight (8) years of software engineering experience is required, including two (2) years utilizing Big-Data Cloud technologies/Distributed Computing. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline is required; four (4) years of relevant experience may substitute for the degree. A Master’s degree can substitute for two (2) years of experience. Certification as a Cloudera Certified Hadoop Developer may substitute for one (1) year of Cloud experience.

2. Required experiences include:

• a. Two (2) years of Cloud and Distributed Computing Information Retrieval (IR).
• b. One (1) year of experience implementing code for Cloud Big Table.
• c. One (1) year of experience implementing code for Cloud Distributed File System.
• d. One (1) year of experience implementing complex MapReduce analytics.
• e. One (1) year of experience implementing code for Cloud Distributed Coordination Frameworks.

3. Additional experience required includes:

• Experience with Network Operations, Cloud Computing, Multi Node Management, and installation.
• Experience with Information Assurance techniques.
• Information Technology experience in Object Oriented Design, Java, Cloud Technologies and Information Retrieval.
• Debugging and Profiling Cloud and Distributed Installations experience.
• Experience with SIGINT and related technologies.

At minimum: Experience with Elastic and at least a subset of the following: DevOps, Elastic Search, NiFi, Python, Java/Spring Boot, Angular.

Desired Skills

1. In-depth knowledge of Information Retrieval and Cloud MapReduce analytics implementation.

2. Oversight of software development tasks and improvement recommendations for documentation and processes.
